31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN: Broom Hilda Comic Strips!

There was no way that I was going to celebrate Halloween with comic strips and forget about the witch comic strip Broom Hilda! Published for the first time on April 19, 1970, Broom Hilda follows a witch and her friends. She was so popular that she has appeared in cartoon form as well. She was in shorts featured on Archie's TV Funnies (along with other comic strip characters like Nancy, Dick Tracy, and others). She also appeared in Filmation's Fabulous Funnies! This show also had shorts of Nancy, Captain and the kids, Alley Oop, and many more! One interesting note is that Irwin and Grelber (as well some voices in other shorts like Captain Katzenjammer in Captain and the Kids) were voiced by "Skeletor" voice actor Alan Oppenheimer! So enjoy these classic comic strips, that although are not Halloween do feel like they should be here!

DAY 13

Today is a special treat as its the COMPLETE (might be missing 1 chapter as my source had the same strip on two different days!) Little Mermaid Christmas strip! Starting in 1960, Disney ran the 4 week strip called The Disney Christmas Story. This era featured many different properties interacting Like Peter Pan and the seven dwarves. This tradition ended in 1987, so why am I bringing it up in connection to a strip that ran in 1997 and featuring a property not introduced until 1989? Because in 1992 they brought back this tradition with "The Disney Holiday Story!" Unlike the original, this series only featured one property. I am currently trying to find all the parts from The Lion King and Hunchback ones. The Little Mermaid was the final strip of this incarnation. One note is that cause they had so little amount of days, there are times where in my opinion that it feels rushed. Without further ado:

Day 1

Welcome to my annual Halloween countdown! This year to separate it from my other blog Alexis' Treasures , this year the event is called "Comic Strip Terrors" instead of "31 Days of Halloween", which my other blog uses! Today we will start the countdown with just about everyone's favorite witch Broom Hilda! The Broom Hilda strip began on April 19, 1970 and is still running! It was created by Russel Myers and is very well known! In fact, she appeared in many Filmation shorts in the 70s! Of the 5 strips today, 3 I know that I have never shared, one i'm not sure of, and the other (pumpkin) is much better quality!
